The Beast of St John's Cove

Plot

A woman’s naked body on the beach foreshadows the evil that is about to descend upon the peaceful manor of St John’s Cove. The griffin has awoken and the only thing that can keep the people safe is to sacrifice a young virgin on every full moon. In this classic Gothic romance Rebecca and Eavan, the blind guardian of St John’s Cove, fight to defeat a very real monster.

As best he could, the monk hobbled about searching for Balthasar, and at the same time trying to avoid the sheriff and Edgith’s men. There were only four guards left at the castle, but Gruffydd did not know that at the time. It was a short time later when he spotted the horses in the back stable of the inn. He entered and found his companion eating and drinking. “Sire,” he shouted. “I have found your daughter and Nahum has been arrested.” The old man stood up slowly with a look of thunder on his face. He drew his great sword and swept the table clear. The room fell to a hush as all observed the old knight demonstrate his anger. “Lead the way, monk.” Gruffydd hopped and skipped along, leading the lord to the castle courtyard. Balthasar was a man of almost infinite patience, but the drink, the loss of his daughter and now his son’s arrested meant that he had reached boiling point. When they reached the pyre and he saw his beautiful daughter tied to a stake his anger reached the point of no return. Staffs was walking from the castle towards the pyre, with a lighted torch in his hand, Balthasar recognized him as a man of authority and challenged him. “Sir,” he yelled. “Where is my son?” Two guards rushed at the old knight, but in an instant, he used his giant sword to slay one and injured the second. Staffs threw the torch at the pyre and drew his weapon. As Balthasar and Staffs fell into combat the pyre caught fire and began to burn. The crowd was highly delighted for now they had the spectacle of both a sword fight and a burning all at once.
